Connecting to your data is the first step on your Power BI journey. Power BI’s robust set of connectors ensures you can pull in data from almost anywhere, be it an Excel workbook, a cloud-based database, or even a website.

Connect to Data: Open Power BI Desktop, click on “Get Data” and select your data source.

Quick insights, a feature in Power BI, takes it a step further, using sophisticated algorithms to analyze your data and highlight trends and patterns.

Drag and drop fields onto the report canvas, and use the visualization pane to configure and format your dashboard.

Now, it's time to model your data.  Create relationships between different tables and build measures using DAX to create a robust data model.

Finally, share and collaborate! Once your report is ready, publish it to the Power BI Service, and share it with others in your organization. Create a dashboard by pinning visualizations from your report.
