healthcare clinic stays competitive with cloud migration

icon-1.png   The Challenge

A fast-growing physical therapy practice spread out across Virginia was struggling with a patchwork of different IT systems that they had inherited through multiple acquisitions.

Many of these systems were unique to specific locations, often making data inaccessible to employees in other offices.

With over 800 patients seen a day across 18 locations, and more growth on the horizon, having a rock solid and secure IT infrastructure in place was critical for the business to maintain growth.

Ntiva recommended moving to a cloud-based data center, which meant that all applications and data would be centralized and thus easily accessed from all of the office locations.

This also meant that as new clinics opened, they could avoid the expense of installing and maintaining additional software and hardware in every single location, helping them to keep costs down and thus remain competitive in a booming market.

Ntiva beefed up their digital security as well, making sure patients’ private information was safe and secure as per HIPAA regulations.

A solid data data back-up and disaster recovery solution was also proposed and implemented, an integral part of keeping the clinic in compliance with healthcare industry regulations.

An important component for any healthcare related practice is cyber security.

There are plenty of compliance rules and regulations which must be maintained, starting with HIPAA which is the standard for protecting sensitive patient data.

Ntiva performed a due diligence audit to ensure that all physical, network and process security measures were in place.

Proactive security management and monitoring, data encryption software, and a robust data backup and disaster recovery solution were all integral parts of the proposed solution.

The client’s newly upgraded network architecture and centralized data center meant both patients and employees could move from one location to another seamlessly, bringing immediate benefits to day-to-day operations.

As they continue to expand, the clinic will have a flexible and scalable IT infrastructure in place to easily handle the growth, as well as the security they need to keep patient data protected.

Ntiva continues to provide for all their IT needs, from day-to-day management to strategic technology planning to keep the clinic competitively positioned and on the move!
