Ntiva, headquartered in McLean, VA is currently accepting applications for a Network Operations Center Technician. This position will be responsible for monitoring all automated alerts relating to Ntiva Client Networks. The Network Monitor Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting identified alerts and dispatching to technicians for remedy if unable to resolve issue. This position may have management potential as the department develops.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring automatically generated alerts
- Determining false positive alerts/determining if there is indeed an issue
- Troubleshooting alerts for effective and efficient resolution
- Dispatching alerts to other technicians as necessary for resolution
- Consulting directly with clients if outside of normal business hours to establish if an emergency support case will be initiated
- Identifying and deploying monitoring agent software as necessary
- Improving existing and developing new monitoring policies to increase accuracy, uptime and visibility
- Working directly with monitoring vendor to resolve platform issues
- Other Duties as assigned
Position Requirements
- Windows Systems Administration Experience-2003/2008/XP/Vista, Group Policy, RDP, Performance Monitoring
- Network Administration Experience-TCP/IP,SNMP,IPSEC,NAT
- Hardware Administration Experience-Dell OMSA, HP iLO
- Excellent attention to detail, focus and follow-through
Preferred Experience
- 3 years Help Desk or Administrator level Experience
- 1 to 2 years Management experience (Desired but not required)
Certifications (Desired but not required):
- MCP
- Network+
- CCNA
Clearance (Desired but not required):
DSS Secret or TS
Compensation based on experience. Health, dental, retirement, and profit sharing are available to qualifying applicants.
