Ntiva headquartered in McLean, Va is currently accepting applications for a Lead Low Voltage System Technician/Cable installer. The Lead Low Voltage System Technician is directly responsible for leading and working along with a crew of cabling/telecommunications technicians.  This position will provide hands on technical and administrative direction. 

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Reading and comprehending blueprints and building documentation/Layout work.
  • Ensuring that equipment and information are on site to meet construction schedules and deadlines.
  • Installing Cable and Various Cable Supports (IE cable tray, conduit, hangers ect).
  • Utilizing cable test procedures and equipment for a variety of different cable types.
  • Assisting with testing and terminating of cable systems.
  • Assisting with all aspects of the project as directed by the Crew Leader, Foreman and Supervisor.
  • Following all production, safety and quality standards to code.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 Position Requirements:

  • Excellent teamwork ability.
  • Excellent Customer Service skills.
  • Understanding fo Cat5, Cat6 and fiber optics.
  • Proper use of all tools and equipment necessary to peform assigned tasks-including Drills, Cable Cutters, Saws, Hammer Drills, Knock-out punches ect.
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel or crouch for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and carry 25 pounds consistently.
  • Ability to travel to multiple locations within a designated area.
  • Possesion of a valid driver's license.

Experience, Education, and Certification Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 to 2 years of installation experience.
  • 2 years experience in the data/communications industry.
  • Understanding of computer networking systems- Routers, Switches, Servers (Preferred but not required).
  • Junior System Administrator Skills (Preferred but not required).
